At Maxspan, you get to design your own commercial buildings just the way you like them. You can choose how big you want it, what materials to use, and what special features you need. Our team will help you make your ideas a reality, so you can have the building you’ve always wanted!
Dimensions and snow load
Maxspan buildings offer tremendous flexibility with span widths up to 50.0 m, side wall heights up to 12.0 m, and snow loads exceeding 4.0 kN/m². Thanks to the ingenious modular system, industrial buildings can be flexibly adapted to the usage and local conditions. Your commercial building will be designed entirely according to your preferences – in terms of length, width, height, and specifications. Buildings can always be expanded and modified as needed.

Span, wall height and length
Maxspan commercial buildings are cantilevered up to a span of 50.0 meters and available with a wall height of over 12.0 meters. They can be extended or shortened in length as desired.
Larger widths
When it comes to particularly large spaces, all types of buildings can also be executed in multiple parts. With partition walls, the individual sections can be subdivided as needed.
Roof shapes
The choice of a particular roof shape depends on costs, desired appearance, construction, and energy consumption. Maxspan offers you many options and provides individual advice.

Saddle roof
The most cost-effective and consequently widely adopted type of a building construction is the saddle roof. An ideal roof pitch of 10° is recommended, although other pitches can be accommodated upon request.
- Generally optimal in terms of structural integrity, hence offering the best value for money.
- Straightforward roof covering and sealing.
- External drainage system.
- Tension cable in the eaves to minimize material usage.

Multi-bayed saddle roof
Maxspan steel buildings can be configured with multiple bays to achieve widths exceeding 40.0 m. If necessary, the individual areas can be partitioned with walls.
- Capability for constructing very expansive building complexes.
- Slender steel construction facilitated by intermediate supports.
- Internal columns, however, may interrupt the usable area.
- Drainage facilitated through intermediate gutters in the roof valley.

Pent roof
Pent roof structures are frequently selected for their aesthetic appeal. This roof design offers distinct advantages, especially when paired with solar systems. For smaller spans and lighter loads, a pent roof can also present the most economical option.
- Straightforward roof covering and waterproofing.
- External drainage system.
- Particularly suited for south-facing solar installations.
- Less cost-effective for wider buildings.

Flat roof
Modern flat-roofed buildings are in high demand not only for their functionality but also for their wide range of design options. Innovative flat roof constructions transform steel building structures with flat roofs into architecturally appealing edifices.
- Roof greening or solar east-west installation is feasible
- Aesthetically pleasing
- Roof structure may entail more complex waterproofing
- Typically the most costly option

System flexibility
Maxspan operates with two types of steel building constructions: H-building and L-building. Achieving the most cost-effective building construction hinges on the optimal combination of length, width, height, and local snow and wind loads. Tailoring the system to your needs ensures the optimization of your desired building, as material savings equate to cost savings. Striving for efficiency means building only as much as necessary.

H-building construction
Suitable for straightforward, compact buildings, the main frame (1) comprises IPE-steel girders, while purlins and wall transoms (2) are constructed from hollow sections, fitting snugly between the main frames. This construction method offers the benefit of maximizing the usable space within the building.

L-building construction
Designed for intricate, expansive buildings with substantial load demands, the main frame (1) is constructed from IPE-steel girders, while lightweight profiles form the purlins and wall transoms (2). These elements are affixed in front of the main frames to accommodate the specific needs of such structures.
Floor anchoring
Floor anchoring ensures the stability and safety of structures by firmly securing them to the ground. Properly anchored floors provide resistance against external forces, enhancing the overall durability and reliability of the building.

Steel construction anchoring
It is typically required in instances of heavy loads, such as in large prefabricated buildings or those equipped with crane runways.

Anchoring by ground pegs
Securing with ground pegs can offer a cost-effective method of fastening on asphalt or paved surfaces, though approval from building authorities is necessary for permanent structures.

Anchoring with dowels
This proven and solid anchoring method is cost-effective. It is the most commonly used fixing method for anchoring to concrete.
Floor connection
The floor connection plays a critical role in ensuring structural integrity and stability within buildings. By securely joining flooring elements, it enhances load-bearing capacity and safety, providing a solid foundation for various activities within the structure.
